Swati Joshi, Swati Yoga Shalaa, Yogic movements - ancient memory of voluntary muscles

About “yoga shastra” and our SYS method of practical teaching:

Today People ask,

What type of yoga do you teach ? or

What form of yoga do you follow or do ?

The practice of yoga was started during the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in India over 5,000 years ago. It was first mentioned in Rig Veda, a collection of texts that consisted of rituals and mantras,  which were mainly used by Brahmans.

Yoga is primarily a spiritual discipline that concentrates on the subtle science of the universe that focuses on achieving harmony in our physical body as a vehicle to understand the secret of nature to enhance an individual’s mind- body complex with intellect, to reach a higher level of consciousness.

 So to  make it simple,

The Yoga-sutras of Patanjali (2nd century BCE) are the earliest extant textbook on Yog shatra.

The overall naturalism, its great interest in physics, and its atomism are all counterbalanced by the appeal to adrishta (a supersensible force) to account for whatever the other recognized entities cannot explain.

The attitude of the Yoga-sutras to the human body is ambivalent. The body is said to be filthy and unclean. Thus, the ascetic cultivates a disgust for it. Yet, much of the discipline laid down in the Yoga-sutras concerns the perfection of the physical body to be physically stable and healthy, with the intent to make it a fit instrument for spiritual perfection. Steadiness in Asana means all forces acting in our body have to be Equilibrium state where neutralization of muscular architecture in particular pose or any pose has to be at its ease and where disease is the first obstacle which limits the naturalism of our human beings.

Lord Patanjali has not prescribed any name of Asana or described any particular pose. But all about what exactly should happen in our body to bring ” Prayant Shaithilya,” where the physical body at its  perfection  consists of “ ease, beauty, grace, strength and adamantine hardness”

Yogashatra is to understand the secret behind nature and its physical laws through our own physical body  to enhance physiologically, psychologically, intellectually, spiritually , genetically to be evolved naturally at a higher state of level.

There are only two thoughts of ancient yoga, that is, Hatha yoga , in which some higher levels of asanas / human forms are prescribed. In one of the sutras, it’s written that you can do as many forms that are available in this universe, mainly animal forms, i.e., 84 lakh species. In all these forms, we have to learn to understand and achieve the naturalization which they have  to further evolve in human form to reach higher stages of super human poses, which are meditative poses that are prescribed in Hatha yoga.

As in Patanjali yoga or Raja yoga or ashtanga yoga, which has 8 stages: yama, niyama, asana,Pranayama, pratyahara, dharana ,Dyana and samadhi.

Here, Lord Pantanjali has not described any pose but said that vyadhi is the first obstacle to start.

Definition of Asana does not mean just sitting or sitting in any form and start doing Pranayam or meditation.

” Shira sukha asanam” Here Physical stability is most important and essential, which we need to work physically first to be in “Sukha ” state ( su + kha , vyavasthit avakash i.e ideal inner space) where inner spaces are in equilibrium state with the outer universal space or atmospheric pressure or environment that won’t disturb our physical, Physiological and psychological condition

su- vyavasthit akash that is space within for a prolonged period of time to be in this tranquil state is essential to reach a higher state.

Once we get this equality state ( smatva ) then next sutra he described ” Prayatna Shaithilya” means now we don’t need to many forms of Asana, as now any outer universal force will not affect our state of physical body and that is also ananta samapatti byam that means forever, that is ‘smruti parishudhdhi ” Though our body is perishable , this achieved memory will get memory programing in our ancient brain and in our DNA which is healthy.

The aim of Swati’s Yog-method is achieving the state of  physical stability to achieve the state of health of the body as well as mind. It will, in turn, protect from everting future catastrophe and the attack of various deformities which lead towards diseases.

These diseases are related to the cardiovascular, respiratory, Excretory,Reproductive,Digestive, metabolic, Neurological and Psychosomatic disorders, etc, all related to health, which do not have satisfactory treatment today.

In short the span covers all the possible disasters in human beings.

Some principles taught behind Swati’s yoga method –

1) The basic principle is the awareness of space within the body both close ( skull, vertibral column and heart and circulatory system) and open ( lungs, digestive, reproductive, excitatory) and its harmonious relation with outer space. This will be achieved by the conscious movement of the strongest voluntary muscular system in our own body.

2) Medium is voluntary muscular architecture which is under our own will and command which has its own ancient memory which we should not disturbed. This memory is imbibed in our ancient brain with coded form .The child unwinds ,decode this memory with trial error and success pathway then that goes into automation. As we have not learned this consciously and intellectually we lost and forgot and used this automation in a harsh manner. The secret behind Yogasana lies here which we teach here.

3) This is achieved through biofeedback techniques taught during the course of teaching various yogasana.

4) Various props are used to teach these asanas, mainly ropes and wooden furniture and cotton belts . So that the student understands with the references normal relationship between the matter and energy represented as the body and mind. Forces and direction.

5) The method involves culturing the sensory and the motor functioning of the nervous system. The sensory functioning is the art of understanding the forces of gravity, antigravity, and the dextro and  laevo rotation. This basic knowledge is necessary for the healthy functioning of the body.

6) The body is made up of the elements of space, air, fire, water, and earth. All these five elements in the body are expressed through sensory perception and can be learnt by using intelligence and technique, the art of perceptive sensibility.

7) This art is understood by the motor functioning of the nervous system through the musculoskeletal system. Which is the strongest system under our conscious will , in our hands.

8) For this purpose, one must learn the expression of the body, a combination of Earth and water. That is fractional variations in density of muscle mass.  This can be learned by mastering the art of variation in the density of muscle-spindle (dilution of water content in a muscle cell). This is learned through modification of the stretch reflex. Which is represented in the gross voluntary muscle. This intern brings movements of the bones at the joints. Which is required for the locomotion of the body.

Method of Swati Yoga Shalaa , a fine blend of knowledge from the ancient Hatha yoga , Patanjali sutra , physiology of the medical science, and quantum mechanism of the ultra modern physics and Physionomy of yogaasana . Hence, this method is the best exposition of the natural skill of the body and mind in the rejuvenation and regeneration of the body.

We have to achieve this with a watch within our body, to work within the worship process with devotion to get wisdom to win the pose that is “Asandrudata” that is the evolve state of human beings.

Let’s use modern shoes and try to achieve this pathway using technology and modifications.

I am lucky to learn this practically one to one directly from my Guruji . To get this knowledge was very difficult and needed a high level of sensory perception. I got the opportunity to help him for research and teach a vast number of people under him. As well as working very hard on my own body with strictly following Universal Principles with regular, consistent, sincere dedication and devotional practice. It was an inner adventurous journey within my own body to achieve this joyous journey within today at the age of 63. I am very grateful to my Guruji Dr Shrikant karnadiker “Acharya Yoganada”🙏
