Aim – To protect health, enhance well-being, minimize disease process and to avert future catastrophe.
In the fast paced 21st century a human being is so busy in his day to day activities that he has no time for himself. The time he spends for himself is only some change in routine and entertainment in physical or mental form.
Why is this the case?
Because whatever we do, is to use our body for something other than what we should be using it for. So we tend to overuse, misuse and abuse the body a lot. So please think over this. Some genetic deformities we already have inherited. Other movements from the time of birth till we stand on our two feet brings along some deformities physical and physiological also in normal child. Our center of gravity keeps on adjusting unnaturally
Then our day to day habits of using the body for daily work for oneself, our profession and then again under the guise of exercise, we add more destructive movements. All this time we exert ourselves hence all these leads fast towards degeneration at early age. This is an anatomical distortion at the level of an atom or call it structure which leads to slowing down physiological functions of systems in the body and then slowly leads to permanent pathological changes.
We often tend to perform our routine activities in a careless manner as our brain is not in perfect synchronization with such physical activities. Here the reflex response considers itself to be superior to the action being performed by the body. Hence we have to learn modification of stretch reflex and evolve ourselves with seven stages of yoga i.e. physical, physiological, psychological, intellectual, spiritual, genetic and natural.
About me –
Since the year 1995, I have undergone extensive training in the Science of Yoga from Dr. S. V. Karandikar with dedication and sincere efforts. I am helping him for his research work and handicap class, giving special guidance to different patients. From the year 2000 onwards, under the aegis of late Shri Navalmal Firodia Yoga Vaidyak Adhyasan I am teaching yoga practical as a senior yoga teacher.
In the year 2003, I started teaching privately for students of all age for health, prevention and therapeutic yoga following the method of Dr. S. V. Karandikar with dedicated and sincere work.
This yoga methodology, where classical Hatha yogic postures are modified through medical science which are simple to follow with use of props, like belts, ropes and supports like furniture besides which are easy to practice.
These postures can be learnt in stages and are beneficial in percentage and can be performed with or without a teacher’s presence. The postures are divided into different sets of movements to be learnt. Memorization of different links of movements and then connecting these links into one sequence is the keyword to success in learning.
The beauty of it is that you are the learner and the teacher at the same time.
Since all body types are different and people have different weaknesses, deformities and strengths, use of different props help the body into the correct positions required.
The concept of timings means postures are held for considerable lengths of time to let the effects of the poses penetrate deeper within the individual, to get the physiological effect.
Self-healing technique – through body language and memory programming.
Yoga is of two types, Raja yoga / Ashtanga yoga and Hatha yoga. Both types of yoga lead to the path of liberation. But here in this method liberation is not the aim but through the principles of Raja yoga and Hatha yoga, Arogya or health is achieved.
There are three reasons:
1) Adhi- daivic = genetic
2) Adhi- bhowtic = environmental
3) Adhyatmic = life style (over use, misuse and abuse)
Yoga helps to regain this imbalance. In all the above three reasons, the mind plays an important role. The mind is the one which diverts us from our goal. The mind along with the five senses which are Taste, Touch, Smell, Sound and Sight gives us knowledge of the materialistic world which we can actually experience in terms of pleasure and pain. Pleasure forces us towards the materialistic world which leads to pain. Pain means experiencing unwanted, unpleasant and unexpected things which is called Klesha by Mahamuni Patanjali. Man strives for pleasure and for this reason he turns his attention in achieving it by forgetting all about his bodily pains and mental agonies. This leads to stress, depression and anxiety. For this reason, to stabilize our mind is very important.
So in this method of teaching different rules from Raja yoga are applied and modified according to the situation. But more stress is given on postures, where Hatha yoga has given guarantee of health and stability of mind. By achieving these, people can face any upcoming situations in life.
The physical posture which we take is the reflection of the mind but we all are so deeply involved in this materialistic world that it becomes very difficult to discipline our mind. For this reason holding the body in certain way can provoke the feeling or thoughts which are associated with that posture e.g. if we are having a tremendous back ache then all our attention will be on pain and this will divert our mind from our goal. So when we perform back related posture it reduces pain, so the mind which was stuck in this pain, can be diverted back to his goal, Depending on different physical forms.
In this Yoga methodology, classical Hath yogic postures are modified through medical science.
Aim is –
• Protecting health, enhancing well-being, minimizing disease process & averting future catastrophe.
• Simple to follow, with use of props & supports.
• A posture is divided into small parts and the student should learn step by step.
• Understand the position of torso and the limbs separately and coordination between both.
• Control of reflex activity of spinal cord through intelligence and volition.
• Rectification of forces in body.
• Awareness of space within the body and its relation with space outside.
• Physical ease and physiological benefits gained in a posture.
• Effect in relieving symptoms and signs of diseases.
• Experience of Ease without posture.
For application the basic principle to be adhered is the balance between gravity and antigravity below the navel and Dextro and laevo rotation above the navel. Synchronization of both is the secret of human beings. This is the principle of Neurophysiology in which opposite sides of the Cerebrum and Cerebellum are coordinated.
Principle of Biotechnology and kinetics
1. Relationship between gravity and levity and properties of Dextro and laevo rotation of Torso.
2. Coordination of Sensory systems through Touch, Vision and Vestibular balance.
3. Synchronization of action between agonist and antagonist groups of muscles.
4. Cerebral motor sensory control during the sustenance of the posture.
5. Understanding of the basic elements i.e. Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space through the fractional variation of densities.
6. Awareness of nearness of bones within joints.
7. Equilibrium between right and left sides of the body through coordination between the opposite sided cerebellum and cerebrum.
8. Physiological control on the body metabolism.
9. Memory programming for enhancing the skill in performing the posture.
10. Application of memory from the experience, in day to day life.
11. Intellectual knowledge to be converted into genetic coding in each body cell, ultimately resulting into the natural physiological behavior pattern of the body.
So in conclusion, the science of Yoga is the Supreme method of rejuvenation and regeneration of the body. It can be summarized as the Self-Healing Technique through Body Language.
