Be aware of your own physical and mental stress. Our body reacts the same way in both these stress. Therefore how we work following universal laws, to enhance its physical and Physiological function matters alot.
How much stress is too much?
Physical and mental stress are the same physiological response of our body.
Because of the widespread damage stress can cause, it is important to know our own limits, both physical and mental . But just how much stress is too much differs from person to person. Some people seem to be able to roll with life’s punches, while others tend to crumble in the face of small obstacles or frustrations. Some people even thrive on the excitement of a high-stress lifestyle.
Stress is our body’s way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When we sense danger—whether it’s real or imagined—the body’s defense kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” reaction or the “stress response.”
The stress response is actually the body’s way of protecting us . When one works in our body physically properly, correctively , it helps us to stay focused, energetic, and alert.
In emergency situations, stress can save our life, giving us extra strength to defend ourselves. For example, Stress can also help us rise to meet challenges. It is what keeps us on our toes during a presentation at work, sharpens our concentration when we are attempting the game-winning free throw, or drives us to study for an exam.
But beyond a certain point, stress stops being helpful and starts causing major damage to our health, mood, productivity, and our quality of life. Therefore, it is very essential to bring ease in our physical and Physiological state of our own body systems which can easily bear our mental pressure where contraction of voluntary and involuntary Musculature is a strong defensive force ( in Marathi language it is called ” darun thevane”).
Fight-or-flight response: what happens in the body.
When we feel threatened physically, emotionally, our nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which rouse the body for emergency action. Our heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and our senses become sharper. These physical changes increase our strength and stamina, speed up our reaction time, and enhance our focus, preparing us to either fight or flee from the danger at hand.
Our nervous system is not very good at distinguishing between emotional and physical threats which one gives in the name of Physical exercises, this equally deteriorates our Physiological function and which I call Physical mimicry . Reason our parasympathetic nervous system does not cope with increased sympathetic load.
If we are super stressed over an argument with a work deadline, or a mountain of bills and also strenuous Physical exercises then our body can react just as strongly as if we are facing a true life-or-death situation.
The more our emergency stress system is activated, the easier it becomes to trigger, making it harder to shut off.
If we tend to get stressed out frequently, like many of us in today’s demanding world, our body may exist in a heightened state of stress most of the time. And that can lead to serious health problems. Chronic physical and mental stress disrupts nearly every system in our body including the immune system.
Therefore how we work on our physical body matters a lot.
Ask questions of your own self that are just loading extra work load on our organ systems in our Physical activities which does not seem to prevent us or improve our Physiological function and mental health. Once this damage happens, then we keep wandering ,doing so many things like different types of exercises, massage, relaxing technique, breathing techniques, sleep time , food like what to eat , when to eat and bla bla bla.
Be aware this is a vicious circle where there is no clarity and purity of mind , it’s all about confusion and confused mind doesn’t learn.
Be conscious , We need to work consciously to bring control to our Conscious big brain to get control of our unconscious little brain to get further control on our subConscious brain stem .
There is systematic order and technique to follow step by step at Physical level to get physiological benefits and improvements which affects our psychology.
One must understand that our body’s own defective mechanism leads us towards diseases, therefore to prevent this we must follow universal physical laws strictly to enhance our physical state consciously. Disease is the first obstacle in Yoga Shastra.
